Customer Requirement
For cost effective and reliable local services with maglev trains diverse mechanical components had to be optimized for meeting the specific requirements. Essential requirements were broad entrance doors, constant distance between all entrance doors, extended carriage body height, seats and standing room for passengers, improved acoustic behaviour inside the car body, fulfilment of fire protection and crash requirements.
Realisation
Definition of necessary specifications (Requirements and dimensioning loads for local services)
Approval of vehicle layout together with the customer’s designer
Development of a carriage body structure with specific features as extra-large passage width, increased interior height and standing areas as well as seats Optimization of the internal acoustic behaviour and the travelling comfort, for example by implementing of a double floor and specific measures concerning the interior Consideration of the increased fire protection requirements and crash resistance
Modification of the vehicle air conditioning Cooperation in documentation of rules and standards for maglev trains together with other experts and the German railway authority EBA.
